2026.28: The Horrible Heat

I was going to talk about the Strike novels today, which I am currently rereading, but we’re in the middle of yet another heatwave/spike, and thinking isn’t really happening.

Hence, also, the reread of novels I last read less than a year ago. And they aren’t exactly light and fluffy books either. Great big doorstoppers, too. I’m reading them on my Kindle, because that’s the best way of reading such books. Saves the wrists. Especially when you’ve got a Tiny sleeping on you.

I’m tempted by the children’s section of my library. Mrs Pepperpot, and Enid Blyton, for example. Things which don’t tax the brain when it’s so hot. Mrs Pepperpot especially, since she’s in what I can only assume must be currently chilly Norway, which sounds delightful.

But I hope you are finding ways to stay cool in the Horrible Heat, and hopefully normal brain function will resume soon.
