May and June were quite busy, by and large, on the papercrafting front. I’ve restocked my card-box (a couple of card-kits did, I will admit, help with that); I’ve started experimenting with a shadow-box project (more anon, when I work out how to make it not gape); and I’ve begun and completed one scrapbook project, and I’ve done a few more pages of Tiny 1’s scrapbook, with some lovely splashy sorts of patterned paper.
Actually, having the Crafting Challenge to use up my stash has been helping quite a lot with getting things made and done. Very little is complicated: I don’t get nearly enough time at my desk for that. Although it doesn’t really feel much like I’ve used up very much of my Stash. Perhaps because I haven’t yet managed to use up a paper-pack, just odd sheets here and there, so none of my folders have emptied.
I started the month going strong – and learnt how to schedule posts on Instagram, which means that I have finally posted consistently for a month. It feels like an achievement, but I’m not sure that it is. (The secret is to snap a photo and schedule as soon as I’m done making. That way, I don’t forget. I’m not a photographer; they are just point-and-shoot sort of photos.)
But I haven’t done much for the last couple of weeks – the heat, darlings, the heat! – so that consistency may well fall off when I run out of new cards and things to photograph. Unless I suddenly manage to pick up again.
I am now also considering an instant camera, for day-to-day sort of scrapping. For special event folio journals. Because while I was working out my notebook covers, I came across lots of journal dies, and projects for making beautiful folios, which seem like a nice idea for scrapping Events. But these don’t require lots of big – or even 6×4 – photos. And, also, it’s nice sometimes to not have to wait for the photos.
Now let’s see if I can keep the Challenge going through July. How much more of the Stash can I use up?
