Being a Crafter means I’ve usually got at least one project on the go, and lots more swirling in my brain. Usually this means that I also have a list of things required for the projects waiting in the wings. I try very hard to limit the supplies bought for future projects, because of limited space, but sometimes a kit or a paper pack is just Too Pretty and must be added. But I am practising Discipline, and the Art of Using Up (to make room for more!).

Sometimes supplies bring joy as they are, not just for what they will become.

Papercrafts lend themselves admirably to the building of a hoard. So many beautiful papers, and stamps, and dies, and paper-punches, and tools, and projects, and – oh, so much stuff! Admittedly, I could also build a hoard of yarn, but those I find a bit easier to resist; likewise with cross-stitch kits and patterns (and the threads don’t exactly take up too much space). Most of my crafting space is taken up with papercrafting supplies.

Most of my papers come from Stampin’ Up! (for which I am currently a Hobby Demo: if you need a Demo in the UK, I can be found as Celia Hodgson, but I’m not paying for the SU! website, so I regret there is no easy link for you). Stamps and dies come from wherever sells what I want, although mostly from magazines.

I do also have quite a collection of small cross stitch kits and patterns, partly because I used to subscribe to various cross stitch magazines. An easy way to build such collections. I particularly used to like Cross Stitch Crazy, and was very sad when it closed during the pandemic. eBay is the answer for old issues.

My yarn and fabric stashes are currently quite well controlled. No longer do they spill over and out.
