Having given myself a Read My Library Challenge, and then immediately been distracted by various craft projects, I’ve decided that I clearly need a Craft Challenge too. Maybe that way I can balance the Challenges and actually complete at least one of them.
My Craft Challenge is similarly straightforward.
It is to Craft My Stash.
Because my Stash is, like any self-respecting crafter, really rather full of things which I simply can’t resist and will, honestly, use one day. Only that day has yet to come. A bit like writers and inspiration, it is probably better to sit down and start using, rather than waiting for inspiration to strike.
Otherwise the papers will remain uncut, the kits not done, yarn not crocheted. Projects not completed.
And I keep adding to the stash, although I am reasonably strict about not adding too much at any one time due to the general lack of storage space. I am quite limited. Which is a bit of a shame, because there are so many lovely crafting things. Especially papers.
But there simply isn’t the time in each day to play with all my pretty supplies, and read all my books, and do everything else that I want to do. So I must be strict.
I know the crochet and cross-stitch supplies will probably tend towards more longer-term sorts of projects, but the papercrafting bits I can find quick and easy projects, which can be done in little pockets of time while both Tinies are otherwise occupied.
And don’t worry: given that I’m trying to Craft My Stash, I’m not about to start trying to sell crafting supplies to you. Besides, I’m more of a Last Chance Saloon sort of purchaser: I wait for the sales, when things are being phased out, so most of my supplies are probably only available from the resellers of eBay, if you can find them at all. Better that you take inspiration for something in your own stash than you spend money on yet more supplies. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you have something suitable.
Let’s see how long this Challenge lasts. Currently I’m making a whole load of notebook covers, which should use up quite a lot of my 12×12 papers.
