I’m in something of a quandry at the moment. I can feel the pull of Digital Crafting machines.
But I dislike the thought of giving in and getting, say, a Cricut machine. For me, crafting is a time to be away from screens. Digital Crafting machines would bring the screen to the crafting table. And away from my craft corner (I don’t have a plug socket by my desk, you see).

Ideally, I’d want a Scan’n’Cut, anyway, for its ability to do the fussy-cutting for me. And the fact that it doesn’t require a screen to connect. But I don’t have the space for one. Far too big to justify in my tiny corner.
But I have a scrapbook project which is going to require neat captions that I definitely won’t find even halfway suitable stamps for. So I’ve been considering one of the little Cricuts, the Joy or the Joy Xtra, and trying to think what else I might use it for. That’s what comes from watching scrapbooking videos on YouTube.
I suppose I could learn calligraphy or brush lettering. Or just try for nice neat printing. I’ve already got some lovely gold-edged tags which could be pressed into service. And, thinking about it, I do have a small printing press with stamps I could use. Or if I’d thought a bit quicker there was a typewriter for £2 at a local charity shop (although, again, space, hence why I didn’t snap it up).
So perhaps I still don’t need to worry about the dangers of digital crafting just yet. Gosh that makes me feel better. Lighter of spirit. More money for pretty papers and assorted stickers. And new (to me) companies and suppliers.
