2026.3: The Garden Set

Well, papercrafting is off to a reasonable start this year: I’ve managed two birthday cards and a folio for seeds with space for garden notes.

I’ve also, finally, worked up the courage to start cutting into my beautiful papers. Which I might have to get second sets of, because I like them so much. Although it’s the same problem as keeping crockery For Best. Then it never gets used, for what it’s designed for, and just takes up shelf space.
And there are so many other beautiful papers out there. And I don’t have a whole room for my crafting supplies. Or all the time I’d like for crafting anyway, so I must be discerning with my purchases.

But at least the crafting is starting up again.

The folio, a one-sheet wonder inspired by a YouTube suggestion, was much easier than I thought such things should be to make. Three score lines and two cuts, and then pretty papers to decorate and/or make pockets. Maybe ribbon for a closure. I wasn’t using the same, or even a similar theme, as the one demonstrated, so I didn’t really pay much attention to the rest of the tutorial.

I did, though, make up a test-folio for the base in paper I’ve had for longer and don’t much care for so know I’ll never otherwise use it. It was part of a pack; there’s usually at least one design you don’t really like.

And then I tucked packets of seeds and some journalling cards for garden notes into the various pockets, and whipped up a quick card to match. I could have used the stamps which matched the dies, but a couple of sheets from the paper-pack also co-ordinate with the dies and as time is a bit pressing when working around two Tinies, I took that option.

That’s probably me done for the rest of the year, though! Quit while you’re ahead, and all that.
