It’s raining.
This is not unusual for late February, it’s true, but still.
Of course, the joy of rain is putting on coats and wellies and going puddle-jumping, which you can get away with as an adult when you’re accompanied by a toddler. Tiny went through several pairs of socks the other day, because the puddles (quite deep to begin with) splashed over the tops of the wellies. And trousers, too, of course. But we ran out of spare socks.
The other joy for this time of year is the wonderful cheeriness of yellow daffodils.
When it’s dark and cold and wet, there’s something so wonderfully uplifting about the bright yellows and oranges of daffodils. My favourite flowers. And now we have a window box filled with little ones, and vase on the table with big ones.
Bright, happy daffodils.
And it’s already noticeably lighter in the evenings: it’s not dark until nearly 6pm!
