2025.3: Preparing for 2025 Crafting

I was going to talk about the Katy Sue Designs card kit I bought earlier this month, but I think I ought to have made more than one of the cards to do that.

I’ve mostly been organising my crafting supplies in the last few weeks. I started the year with lots of boxes and piles of supplies in my corner and spread over the dining table.

There’s now space on the table again, and I’ve cleared all the boxes. (Every time we empty a box, it feels so good to break it down and stick it in the recycling. Boxes that have followed us from house to house, and now I refuse to give them house-room. Very freeing.)

I still need more shelves – don’t crafters always need more shelves? – but it’ll do until I get them. It’s a much tidier corner now. I might even be able to craft in it.

When I have a break from essaying, anyway.

But in the meantime, I’m naturally filling all the space left by emptying those boxes with…more supplies I don’t really have time yet to play with. It’s just sales, you know? Things I’ve been waiting to go on sale for several months finally have, so I no longer had reason to resist. Well, I probably could have tried harder, but it’s January. Not the time for deprivations, if you ask me. Leave that for Lent.

On the other hand, although my craft boxes have been emptied and put away, I now can’t actually find anything quickly, because I haven’t really organised it. I’ve just found space for it in my trolley or on a shelf, and I’ve no idea where. Except the box of small stamp sets, which have found a new home in a caddy in the top of the trolley. It has handles, which makes it easy to move around if I want to stamp in front of the TV. And pockets, for little things like a tape runner and scissors. Very handy.
