Well, that was an unexpected fortnight of not writing. Mostly, it must be said, due to a lack of internet, and then because there was a rush to meet an MA deadline. There was a move in all that too, which didn’t help.
I’m still working my way back to regular writing, although it did give me a chance to finish rereading my next Heyer. Currently, though, we’re still surrounded by boxes and unsorted piles of books so it’s all still a bit chaotic. Slowly, we’re bringing it to some semblance of order.

On the other hand, one of the joys of having IKEA furniture is that if you lose a screw or destroy the dowels between taking things apart and reassembling, they will supply, completely free of charge, replacement small parts. Really very useful, and all you have to do is look up the part number in the building instructions (available online if you’ve lost them too).
I’d forgotten how much moving takes it out of you, and all the admin that goes with it. Remembering all the people you need to notify of a change of address. All the utilities with whom to set up accounts (and internet engineers whom you must wait in for, and then don’t turn up, so you must wait another week for internet). Working out where to put everything in new kitchen cupboards.
And it’s all so much more…fun…with a toddler running around underfoot.
However, we are beginning to return to routines again, which will hopefully also mean a return to writing routines. Especially since my next MA deadline isn’t until after Christmas. I probably ought to start planning for that though. And generally writing my dissertation, assuming my proposal is accepted. Which, since I don’t have a back-up idea, I do hope it is.
